Successware21 Installation Checkup

SWRemote communicates with your SuccessWare21® installation through the SuccessWare Http Server. The SuccessWare Http Server is included with your SuccessWare21® installation and has specific requirements. In order to access the features of the SuccessWare Http Server, SuccessWare21 Activation is required.

Requirements for SuccessWare21® ASP Installations

If you use SuccessWare21® on the ASP hosted environment at Synergy, all SuccessWare Http Server requirements are already in place and ready to go. The only additional requirement you need to consider is MapPoint. In order for ASP Dispatch sessions to access maps and SWRemote GPS, a MapPoint license must be obtained for each user that will use the feature.

Requirements for SuccessWare21® Local Area Network Installations

Private LAN Installations of SuccessWare21® have additional requirements. The SuccessWare21® Http Server is designed to be installed and operate on a Windows® Server with the following configuration in addition to the existing requirements for a typical SuccessWare21® Server:

  • Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 3 or Window 2003 Server; Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. 
  • Enabled port forwarding, through existing firewalls/routers to the server for a designated port (2142 recommended) is required for third party agents that will access the SuccessWare21® Http Server from the internet (such as SWremote). You will need your network administrator or internet service provider to set this up. Specific knowledge of your network router, firewall, or internet access will be required. 
  • SWRemote requires that your SuccessWare21® installation is using a SQL database. Check with your network administrator or contact SuccessWare if you do not know what database type your installation of SuccessWare21® utilizes.  If your current database is not an MSSQL database, a database migration may be required.
  • The SuccessWare21® Http Server includes a feature to obtain driving directions from one service location to another. In order for this feature to properly function, the SuccessWare21® Http Server must also have MS MapPoint 2002 or greater installed on the same machine. 
  • For dispatching workstations to provide maps and access features of SWRemote GPS, these workstations must have MapPoint 2002 or greater installed.
