Enrollment, Setup, and Installation > SWRemote Account > Settings

Settings

This menu option allows you to modify the settings on your account and devices. From here you can modify both how your devices and your account function. This menu option is divided into the following 4 sections:

  • Device Settings
  • Account Settings
  • PayFlow Settings
  • Work Suggested

Device Settings

This is the option for the settings menu option. This allows you as a user to define how the devices will function out in the field. The settings you choose here will be pushed down to the devices each time they log in. This is important to remember in that these settings will only take effect once a user logs out and back into the system.

The first pair of settings on this screen are the calls to download and the calls to view. To help limit the strain on the SW21 Server you can restrict the number of calls which will be downloaded to the device. This does not effect the number of calls a technician can complete in a day as the device will constantly bring down new calls, but this simply affects the number of calls a device will request at one time.

The second of these settings is how many calls the devices will present to the technician at any given time. This setting is more for management purposes to limit the amount of calls a technician can see at one time. This keeps the technician more focused on the jobs he currently has on the device. Agian, this does not affect the amount of calls a technician can complete in a day.

Also on this screen is the ability to change your check policy. This will be the text that will be available to the technician when they are taking a check payment. The technician will be able to print this text so that the customer understands your companies policy for taking check payments.

Authorization

The final 3 device settings are for the various authorizations and approvals your technician will be required to collect while on a call. The first, Work Authorization, states that prior to performing work the technician must collect authorization from the customer that the work is valid.

The second, Credit Card Authorization, states that before the technician can perform work, he/she must get credit card authorization from the customer.

The last, Work Approval, states that after finishing work, the technician is required to collect work approval. This is to ensure that the customer agrees that the work performed was complete.

Account Settings

This section allows you to change the settings you have for your SWRemote account. These are the settings you provided while signing up to the system. From here you can change your company name, agent information and API URL. These should only be changed if directed from support personel. Once you've made the changes to your account, you can click "Save" on the button bar and/or click "Test Settings" to ensure your settings will function with the system.

PayFlow Settings

One popular feature of the SWRemote software is the ability to authorize credit cards directly from the mobile device. If you wish to use this feature, it will be necessary for you to set-up a credit card processing account that is tied to your bank account so that funds that are captured in the field get deposited in your bank account.

This screen allows you to change your PayFlow Settings. Again, keep in mind that these are tied to how your devices function so only change these settings if directed by a system administrator.

Work Suggested

The last setting you can change are the work suggested texts that are available to your technicians. These are provided as shortcuts to your technicians working in the field. For example, when the technician is working in the field, they may realize that there are a couple of procedures which need to also be performed. The customer may choose to not perform these changes at this time. The technician, however, would still like to note that these changes were suggested. Rather than having the technician type in the whole suggestion, if you have standard suggestions that can be reused they can be entered in this form.

Clicking on the "Work Suggested" option will put a standard search form into the edit panel. This search works like any of the other editors in the system. Type in a name and click search, or leave the name blank to search for all. You can then edit any of the suggestions you have loaded into the system.

While on the search form you can also click the "Add" button to add a new work suggested.
