Installing SWAPI

Enabling access to SWAPI

In order for your SWAPI installation to be successful, you need to allow access to your server from the internet. This allows the devices running SWRemote to communicate with your server. In order to allow access to your server, specific ports on your firewall (ip port 2143) need to be opened to your server. This port will allow the SWRemote Server to communicate with your SW21 installation via an encrypted SSL communication protocol protecting your data. This will require the assistance of your network administrator and must be completed prior to installation of SWAPI.

Installation of SWAPI

Once you have the ports opened to your server you're ready to install SWAPI. Log into your server and start the SW21 application. Log in using a user and password which will allow you administrative access to SW21.

From the main menu, select Setup --> Utilities. This will get you into the utilities section of SW21. You may be prompted that the system will close any open windows, ensure that you have all of your open work saved and click 'OK'.

General Utilities

Double click on the option for "Administrative Tools". This will get you into the administrative functions of SW21. Once you go into the administrative tools, double click on the HTTP Service Administrator. This is how you administer your SWAPI installation. If you do not have SWAPI instaled yet, you will have an "Install" button. Click the install button to start the installation. Once the installation has completed you can cilck the "Start" button. This will start up the service and allow third party agents to connect.

Once the installation is complete, click the "Test" button. This will test the installation of SWAPI as well as let you know if the connection to the internet was successful which was discussed earlier. Note: This information is required for the setup/enrollment process. Please keep all the information you receive when clicking the test button for future reference.
