SuccessWare21 Implementation Guide > User Groups and Users User Groups and UsersRemote user logon access and user abilities are controlled from with in SuccessWare21. In order to logon from the remote device, a user must be setup in SuccessWare21. The user name setup in SuccessWare21 must match the employee code setup in SuccessWare21 for the same technician. The following list indicates the processes controlled by SuccessWare21 user abilities and the specific abilities that control them.
Setting Up User GroupsIMPORTANT: You must register the SWRemote Agent (swmagent) with your installation of SuccessWare21, prior to setting up users and user groups. It is recommended that you setup three user groups as follows. You can name the groups anything you want, the names here are recommended.
Setting Up UsersIMPORTANT: You must setup user groups before setting up users. Create a user for each technician that will logon to a phone from the field. The user names you use must match the employee code in SuccessWare21® for the corresponding technician. Assign these users to either the SRTech, SRTechOnCall, or SRTechManager user groups. User Logon EnablingUser Logon Enabling controls how users are allowed to access or logon to the SuccessWare21® database. It is possible for users to logon to the SuccessWare21® database via SuccessWare21®, or some third party agent. You can control this access in Setup | Users | Groups. The User Group form has a tab page for "Logon." If you do not check the “Allow logon to SuccessWare21” checkbox, users that belong to this group will not be allowed logon permission to SuccessWare21. If you check/uncheck the checkbox for a agent in the third party agent list, users belonging to this group will be allowed/denied permission via the third party agent. NOTE: Agents will not appear in User Group Setup until they have attempted access and registered with the SuccessWare21® database. User Logon Enabling can be accessed from the 12th tab of the User Group Setup within SuccessWare21®. User Group Setup is accessed from the Group button in the User Setup Form: from the main menu, "Setup | Users | Groups | Logon-12"
