Cannot modify timecard; Remote control is not enabled.

Q: I'm getting the following error when trying to modify my timecard on the device: "Cannot modify timecard; Remote control is not enabled."

A: In order for the device to modify your timecard, exclusive access is required. This is accomplished by the device locking the technician's timecard when you they log into the device. This error means that someone in SW21 has unlocked your timecard and is making updates to it. The resolution to this is to follow one of the following:

- Log out of the machine and back on: This will cause the device to re-lock your time card and allow the device to function again. Keep in mind this will only function as long as nobody tries to unlock your timecard again.

- Have the person who locked your timecard unlock it. The screen in SW21 which allows you to lock your timecard is displayed below. Note the "Remote Control" checkbox. In order for the device to function properly this checkbox should be left checked.

Note: We recommend that this remote control feature be used as sparingly as possible as the device will not function properly when the timecard is not set to remote control. The device should be modifying the technician's timecard.

A2:  Sometimes dispatchers will modify a tech's time card and set them to, for example, meeting from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. If the tech tries to modify their time card during this period, they also receive an error message.
